SBC Assessment Seminar Day - 17th June 2013

The SBC Seminar Day on Assessment hosted at Frank Barnes School in London was very well attended. Representatives from Deaf schools from across the Northern, Midlands & Southern region came to share examples of their good practice & learn about what other schools are doing. It was a packed timetable & we all agreed that next time we need to allow for more discussion & joint planning! Tanya Denmark gave a presentation on assessments used in research for assessing Executive Functioning, Memory skills and Theory of Mind in deaf children - a summary of the research can be found in the Research page of this website. All the presentations can also be viewed and downloaded from the Frank Barnes School website www.fbarnes.camden.sch.uk
It was a very successful day & we all agreed that it is so important to come together & share our ideas and practice. We now have some suggestions for topics for more Seminar Days - so please check the SBC website for future dates!
